Have you ever drove down Brickell Bay Dr. and wondered what that little house was across from Biscayne Bay? Located at 190 SE 12th Terrace, the house was built in 1905 used as an office and surgery for Miami's first resident physician, Dr. James Jackson.
There was a time when Brickell Bay Dr. and Brickell Ave. was lined with mansions of the wealthy. Today, all of those mansions have been torn down and replaced with high rise condominiums.
Over time, Dr. James Jackson house next to his office was demolished, but the City of Miami gained control of the office in 1977 and it is now on the National Register of Historical Places. The building is now used as an office for the Dade Heritage Trust.
