Faena Forum

Completed in November 2016, Faena Forum was designed by Pritzker Prize winning architect Rem Koolhaas of OMA.

As part of the larger Faena District, which also includes Faena House, Faena Hotel, Faena Bazaar and Faena Park, Faena Forum is a 43,000 square foot building that focuses on art. Inside Faena Forum there is a 2,900 square foot amphitheater, 2 assembly halls and 5 meeting rooms.

As part of the Faena District spanning along Collins Avenue from 32nd to 36th street, Faena Forum is now open along with Faena Bazaar and Faena Park. Faena House and Faena Hotel were completed last year. We last   looked at the Faena Forum in August to show a night perspective of the building.

Faena Forum is a 42,565 square foot building designed for the arts, which will include lectures, events and performances. The cylinder like building was designed by Rem Koolhaas of OMA, who also designed the under construction Park Grove in Coconut Grove.

Also open is Faena Bazaar, which will have retail space and Faena Park, a four story automated garage for 235 spaces.

The last building that needs to be completed in the Faena District is the Faena Versailles Classic, which has been put on hold and is now covered with a red draping.

The planned two tower Faena Versailles Classic and Faena Versailles Comtemporary in the Faena District has been put on hold and may by turned into a hotel instead, according to The Real Deal. 

Just a year ago, Faena House and Faena Hotel Miami Beach were completed, while construction progressed on Faena Bazaar and Faena Forum.

The almost completed Faena Forum is expected to open November 27, in time for Art Basel 2016.

In April, we had a look at the entire Faena District in Miami Beach, which included the completed Faena House and Faena Hotel. 

Faena Forum, designed by Rem Koolhaas of OMA, is a 42,565 square foot building for the arts and scheduled to open in November, in time for Art Basel.

Next to Faena Forum is Faena Bazaar, which will feature retail and office space, plus a parking garage.

Since we last looked at the $1 billion Faena District between 32nd and 35th Collins Avenue on Miami Beach in October 2015, Faena House and Faena Hotel have opened.

At the front of Faena House, designed by architect Foster + Partners, is a sculpture by artist Jeff Koons called "Coloring Book." The penthouse at Faena House was sold for a record $60 million, but has since been put on the market for an asking price of $73 million.

Faena District Construction Moving Quickly

In Miami Beach, The Faena District is progressing quickly. Units at Faena House have begun closing including a the penthouse unit, which was sold for a record $60 million to a billionaire Hedge Fund CEO.

Faena Forum is also moving along quickly since we last looked in July and construction has started on Faena Bazaar and Faena Park.

Over on Miami Beach, the Faena District is making progress. The Faena Versailles is completed gutted and the Versailles sign has been removed from the building. 

The biggest progress has been made on Faena Forum, which will be an arts and culture center. Faena Forum is expected to open this December for Art Basel.
