Groundbreaking has begun on the 49 story 400 Biscayne in Downtown Miami.

Developed by Property Markets Group and Greybrook Realty Partners. the site was purchased for $53.6 million in July 2017.

400 Biscayne will have 714 rental units, 3,000 square feet of retail, 48,000 square feet of office space and a 25,000 square foot church to be occupied by the First United Methodist Church.

TBT (June 25, 2014) - 5 years ago the Frost Museum of Science was under construction before it was finally completed in May 2017. Groundbreaking occurred February 2011.

Located in Museum Park along with the Perez Art Museum of Miami, the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science broke ground in February 2011.

The 250,000 square foot museum was designed by Grimshaw Architects and will feature outdoor landscape, a 600,000 aquarium, a full dome 3-D planetarium and cafes. Phillip and Patricia Frost generously donated $35 million to the museum in 2011. 

Once completed, the science museum, art museum and museum park are expected to transform Downtown Miami into a cultural arts hub.

Construction is expected to be completed sometime in 2015.

ParkLine Towers at Virgin MiamiCentral

The two towers at ParkLine Towers at Virgin MiamiCentral are getting closer to completion since the South Tower topped off in February at 33 stories and the North Tower topped off in September 2018 at 30 stories.

A year ago, construction was beginning on the skybridge connecting the two towers. In November 2017, the North Tower started to go vertical.

WeWork To Lease Four Floors In The Southeast Financial Center

WeWork is leasing 90,000 square feet of office space over 4 floors in the Southeast Financial Center at 200 South Biscayne Blvd, according to The Real Deal.

Two floors will open by the end of the year with the other two floors opening Summer 2020.

The Southeast Financial Center was purchased by billionaire Armando Ortega for $516.6 million in December 2016.

WeWork is leasing 10 floors of office space in the under construction 830 Brickell Plaza tower in Brickell.

Construction Begins At SkyRise Miami - Soon To Be Tallest Building In Miami

Construction has started at SkyRise Miami in Bayfront Park that will rise 1,000 feet and surpass Panorama Tower as the tallest building in Miami.

Skyrise Miami is being developed by Berkowitz Development Group and designed by Arquitectonica.

When completed, the tower will have an indoor drop tower style ride at 95 mph, 5 observation decks, a 55-mph base-jumping experience, a zero-gravity tunnel, a transparent slide, a transparent deck at 866 feet and a skywalk at 908 feet.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2023.

Virgin MiamiCentral Offices Sold For $159M

Florida East Coast Industries has sold the office buildings 3 MiamiCentral and 2 MiamiCentral for $159 million to Shorenstein, according to The Real Deal.

3 MiamiCentral was completed December 2017 and has 90,000 square feet of office space and 35,000 square feet of retail. 2 MiamiCentral, which was completed last year has 190,000 square feet of office space.

Since the South Tower topped off in February, both buildings at the Park Line Towers are getting closer to completion.

The North Tower topped off in September 2018.

With 816 rental units, the Park Line Towers are expected to be completed in the coming months.
