TBT (October 29, 2014) - 4 years ago the 18 story Glass, developed by Terra Group, was about to top off in South Beach. After beginning construction in August 2013, the Rene Gonzalez designed building eventually opened in November 2015.

The last time we checked in on Terra Group's Glass 120 Ocean project they were starting to put on the 11th floor. Now they are working on the 17th floor of the 18 floor condo.

Residents will be able to see views of the ocean, Miami and South Beach.

Construction is expected to be completed by early 2015.

This Was 5th Street & Alton Road In South Beach In 1980 - Before & After

The photo on the top left is what South Beach looked like in 1980 when it was a sleepy retirement community and before the glitz and glam of Miami Vice. The photo was taken after 5th Street was widened. The photo on the right is what the area looks like today in 2015. The Texaco on the corner is now replaced by the 5th & Alton Shopping Center. The building on the bottom right is now replaced by the Icon South Beach. One building that still remains is the Royal Atlantic condo at the end of 5th Street that was built in 1969.
