Broadstone At Brickell Site On the Left in West Brickell
ExMiami is reporting that Alliance Residential is building a 372 unit rental condo called Broadstone at Brickell in the transforming West Brickell area.
The rental project will be built at 267 SW 11th Street, which is right next to I-95. It will be 7 stories and rise 253 feet.
The architect is is Dorsky + Yue. No word on when construction will start.
Overhead View of the Arsht Center and the Sears Tower
The Miami Herald is reporting that a Books & Books is coming to the Adrienne Arsht Center by the end of the year. They will be moving into the two story Sears Tower of the building.
The Sears Tower was built in 1929 and was saved from demolition when it was incorporated into the design of the Adrienne Arsht Center.
The Books & Books store is located near The Perez Museum of Miami, Museum Park and the currently under construction Frost Museum of Science.
Demolition on the Aria on the Bay Site
Demolition has begun on the two apartments towers that is located on the site of Aria on the Bay. The Baywatch Apartment is completely torn down and the apartment next it will be down in the next couple of days.
Previously there were homeless living in the abandoned apartments.
Construction on Aria on the Bay is expected to start February 2015.
Site of Krystal Tower
A Brazilian developer, part of the Krystal Investment Solution, is planning to build a condo in Downtown Miami located at 530 NW 1st Court. The condo is on the edge of Downtown Miami and Overtown.
The project will have 153 residential units and rise 35 stories. Glidden Spina + Partners was the architect on the tower.
Currently there is a shell of a previous building on the site that was foreclosed on. Krystal Investment Solution paid $3.5 million for the property.
Construction is expected to start this Winter and be completed in Summer of 2016.
Proposed Site of Sweetbird South Residences
Dacra is proposing a a 14 story condo in the heart of the Design District, which will be designed by Studio Gang Architects according to exMiami.
The site is located between NE 39th St and NE 40th St on NE 1st Ave. It is across the street from the current expansion of the Design District.
The condo will have 76 residential units and reach 199 feet with 20,000 square feet of retail space. The site was previously going to be the Sweetbird Hotel, but was cancelled earlier this Summer.
The project still needs to be approved by the city. Renderings can be seen here at exMiami.
Ocean Drive On South Beach
The LGBT Committee is pushing for the city to install visible markers on Ocean Drive in support of the LGBT community, according to exMiami.
These markers would include rainbow crosswalks, intersections or street signage located in the LGBT section of Ocean Drive.
Commissioners have also recently debated to close Ocean Drive to cars and expanding the sidewalks.
Biscayne Beach has started construction on its 51 story condo, but seems to be moving slower compared to the other buildings in the Edgewater area.
Biscayne Beach is being developed by GTIS Partners and Eastview Development. They recently secured a $120 million loan for the project.
Construction is expected to be completed in December 2016.
