Friends of the Underline are campaigning for a 10 mile bike path and park underneath the Metrorail line from Brickell to Dadeland according to the Miami Herald.

The group will have a competition for a design firm to create a master plan for the project with plans to announce a winner on February 2. 

Ideas for this project have been talked about since last year.

As part of the new re-emergence of Coconut Grove with new towers including Grove at Grand Bay, Park Grove and the soon to be built waterfront development, is the Engle building. 

Located at 2980 McFarlane Road, the Engle building is owned by the Fort family, which is well known for their Miami based architect firm Arquitectonica. Arquitectonica also redesigned the building. New tenants in the building include Harry's Pizzeria, Panther Coffee, Büro Group and a Clyde Butcher gallery, according to the Real Deal.

The intersection where the building is located is one of the main focal points of the Grove and with the potential addition of a bookstore, juice bar and bakery will only further help create the rise of Coconut Grove once again.

250 Wynwood Topped Off, Ready To Open Summer 2015

In the Wynwood Art district of Miami, 250 Wynwood has recently topped off. 

The live/work building is located in the heart of Wynwood next to all the galleries and the popular Panther Coffee. 

The 7 story project is developed by Fortis Development Group and the architect is Laith Sayigh. 

The opening is expected by Summer 2015.

Crane Added to Brickell Ten Site, Ready To Go Vertical

Since the beginning of the week a crane has been added to the Brickell Site. Foundation work has been completed and the project is ready to go vertical.

In November 2014, the sales center on the site was demolished and construction was underway. 

Brickell Ten is located in the emerging West Brickell area.

Construction on the 22 story building is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Preliminary Construction Set To Begin on Brickell Bayview Center

Fencing Around Brickell Bayview Center

Fencing has been added to the Brickell Bayview Center site at 86 SW 8th St. The ramp that leads into the parking garage into the Chase building next door is going to be coming down soon in preparation of the construction. 

The 48 story tower was given approval by the FAA in September 2014.

Previously, city officials debated whether to close Ocean Drive off for cars, and even having rainbow colored signage.

Architect Allan Shulman presented to Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board a proposal that would expand the pedestrian sidewalks and raise the street level to the sidewalks, according to The Next Miami.

Several patterns for the road were presented that would make the road stand out.

Melody On The Rise

Located in the Arts and Entertainment district in Miami Melody Tower by Melo Group is now going vertical. 

Since our last update, two cranes have been added to the site, which will rise 36 floors and have 497 residential units.

Just a few blocks West, Melo Group recently bought land for $16 million, but have not announced what they plan to do with it yet.
