Millennium Developments Begin Demolition In Brickell

Millennium Developments of Brickell Site

Demolition is underway in West Brickell on a site that was purchased by Millennium Developments of Brickell.

Two buildings are being demolished on the site. One is a 10 unit apartment complex built in 1971 and the other is a house built in 1926.

Millennium Developments of Brickell originally purchased the Citgo gas station at 190 SW 8th Street for $9.25 million in June 2014. The remaining lots were purchased in February 2015 bringing the total price for the one acre site to $16 million.

The site is zoned for a 24 story building.

1010 Brickell Reaches 41st Floor

1010 Brickell has reached the 41st floor of the 50 story building and is close to topping out.

Construction started in November 2014 and is expected to be completed by Fall 2017.

Krystal Tower Now Miami Station Tower

Krystal Tower, located at 530 NW 1st CT, was originally planned to be built in the Winter of 2014 and completed in the Summer 2016. The project is now called Miami Station Tower and will be a rental tower, according to The Next Miami.

Miami Station Tower will have 153 units with nearly 5,000 square feet of retail. The building is located near MiamiCentral and across the street from 3 MiamiCentral.

Babylon Apartments Designated As Historic

On Tuesday July 5th, Miami's Preservation Board voted 6-0 to designate the Babylon Apartments as historic despite not meeting the 50 year requirement.

The Babylon Apartments opened in 1982 and helped launch Miami based architect firm Arquitectonica to world renowned fame. They have since designed buildings such as the American Airlines Arena, Brickell City Centre, Brickell Heights and SLS Lux Brickell.

The property owner, Francisco “Paco” Martinez-Celeiro believes the the building is beyond repair and should be demolished. He plans on appealing the decision.

SLS Lux Brickell Construction Photos

SLS Lux Brickell has reached the 37th floor with workers starting to build up to the 38th floor of the 58 story building.

The Arquitectonica designed building is located at 801 S. Miami Avenue across the street from Brickell City Centre and the under construction Brickell Heights.

Construction is expected to be completed before the end of 2017.
