Coconut Grove Parking Garage To Be Converted To Office Building

Coconut Grove is getting its first office building since 1989 at 2850 Oak Avenue, which is currently used as a parking garage.

The parking garage was purchased by Terra Group for $16 million at the beginning of 2016. They plan on converting the parking garage into a 75,000 square feet of office space and ground level retail, according to The Miami Herald. The building will be designed by Touzet Studio and is expected to be completed by mid 2018.

Across the street from the building is the under construction condominium Park Grove.

Construction is progressing at the 10 story 26 Edgewater, which will have 86 residential units.

The windows are being installed on the units since we last looked in August 2016.

2500 Biscayne Getting Closer To Completion

The 20 story 2500 Biscayne is getting closer to completion since reaching the 12th floor a year ago.

2500 Biscayne is a mixed used building that will have 156 rental apartments and ground level retail in a restored Mediterranean revival building that was built in 1923.

One Thousand Museum Reaches 31st Floor

Since reaching the 25th floor in November 2016, the 62 story One Thousand Museum is now at the halfway point and has reached the 31st floor. Just a little over a year ago in January 2016, One Thousand Museum was at the 5th floor.

As the windows continue to be installed, the exoskeleton of Zaha Hadid's design is taking shape, which allows to the building to have floor to ceiling windows and not have any interior columns. With 83 units, One Thousand Museum will also have a rooftop helipad. The first since Miami Tower in the 80's.

Midtown 29 Tops Off

Midtown 29, located at 180 NE 29th St has topped out in Midtown Miami. Construction on the 309 unit rental apartment started going vertical in August 2016.

Construction is expected to be completed early 2018.

Cocowalk Renderings Revealed

Plans have been revealed for the revamp and redevelopment of Cocowalk in Coconut Grove from the SFBJ.

The third floor of retail, where there used to be a Hooters Restaurant and Chili's Restaurant will be replaced with 60,000 - 70,000 square feet of office space. The center building, where there is a Starbucks, Tervis Store and Fat Tuesday will be demolished and replaced as an open plaza with a famers market.

Opened since 1990, Cocowalk was sold for $87.5 million in May 2015 to Federal Realty Investment Trust.
