800 Brickell Office Building Sold For $126M

800 Brickell Office Tower

The 15 story office tower, 800 Brickell, has just sold for $126 million, according to The Daily Business Review.

The building was purchased by Gatsby Enterprise and sold by RREEF America. RREEF America purchased the building for $111.6 million in May 2015.

800 Brickell was built in 1981 and featured in an episode of Miami Vice.

The 24 story apartment Maizon at Brickell in West Brickell is almost completed and soon to open.

The buildings on the site previously were demolished in June 2017 and construction started to go vertical in January 2018 before topping off in November 2018.

The ZOM Living developed building will have 262 rental units.

TBT (July 6, 2015) - 4 years ago, the buildings that were located along the Miami River in Brickell were demolished to make way for 4 60 story towers called Miami River. The project is to be developed by Chetrit Group and designed by Kobi Karp.

The site is still vacant today.

After receiving approval from the Urban Development Review Board, demolition has begun at the Miami River site located just East of I-95 and along the Miami River.

The buildings on the site that were demolished include the Pleasure Emporium III, Sir Speedy and several single family homes. Currently Finnegan's on the River and a few boating stores remain on the site closest to the river and should be demolished soon. 

The Miami River site is part of the transformation of West Brickell and will be built in five phases of construction.

The 5 story Babylon Apartments in Brickell is being demolished after sitting abandoned for 4 years and years of trying to save the structure.

The Arquitectonica designed building was built in 1982 and held 15 apartments.

830 Brickell Approved By Urban Development Review Board

The under construction 50 story 830 Brickell located at 830 SE 1st Avenue has been approved by the Urban Development Review Board.

Developed by OKO Group and designed by Adrian Smith of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, 830 Brickell will have 490,000 square feet of office space, 15,000 square feet of retail and an indoor/outdoor restaurant on level 53.

WeWork will occupy 10 floors in the building.

Brickell Flatiron Getting Closer To Completion

The 64 story Brickell Flatiron is getting closer to completion since both cranes have been removed from the building showing the curves on the East side.

A year ago, construction reached the 42nd floor, and the building topped off in February.

The Luis Revuelta designed tower is scheduled to open this Summer.

Arquitectonica's Babylon Apartments Set To Be Demolished Before July

The 5 story Babylon Apartments, built in 1982 by design firm Arquitectonica is set to be demolished before July, according to The Biscayne Times.

The building was designated as historic in July 2016 by Miami’s Preservation Board, but Miami City Commissioners overruled the vote by 4-1 to have it demolished in January 2018.

On June 13th, City Commissioners will decide whether the zoning for the site can be increased to 24 stories instead of the current 12 stories.
