Le Parc at Brickell and Atton Hotels Construction Site
Located next to each other at 1600 and 1500 SW 1st Avenue, Le Parc at Brickell and Atton Hotels have broken ground in April and May of this year.
Le Parc at Brickell will be 12 stories and hold 124 condominium units.
Atton Hotels will cost $65 million and hold 275 rooms.

Gloria Estefan Attends the Miami Marine Stadium Event
On Saturday morning the National Trust For Historic Preservation held an event at the Miami Marine Stadium to help create awareness about the building and to help with the stadium restoration.
The stadium has been abandoned since 1992 after Hurricane Andrew. City officials deemed the building to be structurally unsafe and ordered it closed. The stadium was used for boat races and concerts such as Gloria Estefan and Jimmy Buffett.
While the stadium has sat abandoned for twenty two years, it has become a haven for graffiti artists who have used the stadium walls as a canvas to display their work.
The Saturday event gave nine street artists the chance to create live work for the people attending.
The event was attended by Gloria and Emilio Estefan who announced that they were donating $500,000 to help in the restoration of the building. They were gracious enough to meet and greet with everyone who was at the event. Also on hand was stadium architect Hilario Candela, who was mingling with guests throughout the day.
The Friends of Miami Marine Stadium are trying to preserve and restore the stadium and are looking to raise $30 million by January.

Looking East Down Flagler Street
The Real Deal reports that unless Miami-Dade Commissioners agree to fund half of the $13 million needed to renovate the street then the project could fall apart completely.
Part of the renovation included repairing and widening the sidewalks, plus adding trees, benches and bicycle racks.
The project was initiated by the Flagler Street Task Force, which is made up of business owners on the street.
SkyRise Miami Rendering
After starting preliminary construction to beat a June 12 deadline that would enable SkyRise Miami to build to 990 feet, Miami Commissioners approved a deal that would allow the structure to be built.
However, there will be an August 26 referendum that give the people the right to vote on the project.
SkyRise developer Jeff Berkowitz will pay the city of Miami $1 million in rent for use of the space and parking.
SkyRise Miami is expected to be completed in 2017.
Venetian Causeway
On March 15, a bus traveling down the Venetian Causeway got stuck over a draw bridge, which caused a portion of the bridge to fall and expose a hole. This caused repairs to start right away on the bridge.
FDOT(Florida Department of Transportation) has launched a study that may completely re-do the Venetian Causeway.
The types of bridges like the Venetian only have a 50 year life span and this bridge has exceeded that time frame.
The study will take about three years before anything is final.
Radio Tower Overlooking the Demolition of the Miami Herald Building
According to exMiami, the radio tower behind the Miami Herald will come down starting July 7th.
The radio tower was used as a transmitter for the radio station WQAM.
Genting is still doing demolition to the Miami Herald building.
The Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science
Located in Museum Park along with the Perez Art Museum of Miami, the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science broke ground in February 2011.
The 250,000 square foot museum was designed by Grimshaw Architects and will feature outdoor landscape, a 600,000 aquarium, a full dome 3-D planetarium and cafes. Phillip and Patricia Frost generously donated $35 million to the museum in 2011.
Once completed, the science museum, art museum and museum park are expected to transform Downtown Miami into a cultural arts hub.
Construction is expected to be completed sometime in 2015.
