Site of the New Building on the Miami River
Melo Group is planning a second phase of Flagler on the River, which will be a three story 17,000 square foot building.
According to Miami Today, included in the new building will be the restaurants SushiSamba and Duck & Waffle. Itec Design is the architect on the project.
The site is also located across the street from the East Coast Building, which is undergoing construction.
The building still needs to be approved by city officials. Melo Group hopes to start construction in the next 6-8 months.
The 1010 Brickell project developed by Key International and 13 Floor Investments received a $76 million construction loan, according to The Real Deal.
In September, demolition began on the parking garage on the site and now preliminary construction has begun on the 50 story condo.
Swire Will Tunnel Under SE 6th St. Highlighted In Red
Swire will close SE 6th St. between South Miami Ave. and SE 1st Ave until April 15 to tunnel beneath the street according to Miami Today.
The tunnel will connect Brickell City Centre North Squared Condo with the underground parking of the rest of City Centre. The underground parking has two levels for 1,934 spaces.
Foundation work is being done on the bottom retail portion of North Squared Condo. This site used to be the parking lot for the Brickell Tennis Club.
Voters rejected a plan that would replace the aging Miami-Dade Courthouse in Downtown Miami.
If the bond was passed it would have increased property taxes to help fund the $390 million plan, which $25 million would have gone towards fixing the current courthouse.
According to the Miami Herald, 64% of voters voted no against the plan.

Since our last update photos, construction on the North Tower has grown from six floors to topping out at the 8th floor. Windows and sliding doors are being installed
On the South Tower, the curves of the building are starting to take shape and becoming more pronounced.
Construction is expected to be completed sometime in 2015.
Overview of Marea In the South of Fifth Neighborhood
Located in the Southwest corner of the booming South of Fifth district of South Beach, Marea's construction is moving along quickly.
Windows and balcony sliding doors are being added to the building. The condo has topped out on the 7 floor building.
