Since installing a crane at the site at the end of April, Echo Brickell is starting to go vertical on the 57 story building.

A shark tank that was supposed to be located  in the lobby will now be replaced with fish, according to Curbed Miami.

Since we last looked at 1010 Brickell back in March, the site just added a crane and was in the process of starting the foundation pour. Fast forward to the end of July and the 50 story condo is currently on the 6th floor. The building is just a bit higher than the height of the parking garage that was previously there.

1010 Brickell is just one of many condos being built in the Brickell area at the moment.

60 Story Condo-Hotel Planned For Edge On Brickell Site

Recently the Edge on Brickell site sold for $18.3 million to developer Leo Macedo, who plans to build a 60 story condo-hotel, according to The Real Deal. 

Macedo plans on building the condo-hotel with 300 residential units and 200 hotel rooms with a rooftop restaurant. He is looking to bring in a five star hotel for the property. 

Architect Kobi Karp is currently designing the project, which as of now, does not have a name.

Taller Skyscrapers For Miami?

A collaboration between the Miami-Dade aviation department and FAA may make it easier for taller skyscrapers to be built in Miami, according to The Next Miami.

Brickell and parts of Downtown Miami would see an increase in height to 1,049 feet from 1,010 feet. One Brickell City Centre has been approved for 1,049 feet.

Spark Tower To Rise In Edgewater

In the growing district of Edgewater comes another residential condo called Spark, according to The Real Deal. The 27 story tower located at 522 NE 34th St. and in close proximity to Related Group's Paraiso project. 

The building is being developed by Spider Ventures Developers Andres Goldenberg and Alejandro Eskenazi. The architect is Behar & Font.

Units will range from 955 - 1800 square feet and sales are expected to begin soon.

Faena District Construction Updates

Fauna District on Miami Beach

Over on Miami Beach, the Faena District is making progress. The Faena Versailles is completed gutted and the Versailles sign has been removed from the building. 

The biggest progress has been made on Faena Forum, which will be an arts and culture center. Faena Forum is expected to open this December for Art Basel.

Beach House 8 on Collins Ave.

Beach House 8 has topped out since we last took a look at the end of April this year. 

The building is located at 3651 Collins Avenue on located next to the beach and close proximity to South Beach. 

The Arquitectonica designed building is still expected to be completed by the end of the year.
