The Pritzker Prize winning Herzog & de Meuron's designed Jade Signature in Sunny Isles Beach is nearing completion and had $51 million in sales for the first quarter of 2017.

“Now that Jade Signature is nearing completion, buyers can truly understand the high-quality work that our design team produces. They can tour the expansive spaces from their home in New York or on their vacation in Europe using our virtual reality app, and achieving that sense of place is key to our sales efforts,” said Edgardo Defortuna, President and CEO of Fortune International Group. “It’s important to us that buyers are able to imagine their lives in Miami, and I am proud to say that we are accomplishing just that.”

Sales from this quarter came from Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Mexico and New York. Three residences, including two double-height Sky Villas listed at $14.2 million each, were sold to New Yorkers as result of Jade Signature’s presence in Manhattan, a lucrative market for second-home buyers. Jade Signature is slated for completion toward the end of the year with only a handful of residences left.

Currently available is a selection of three- to five- bedroom residences as well as a few listings within “The Collection,” including two-story Sky Villas and the upper and lower Penthouses. Homes range from 1,378 to 11,661 square feet and are priced from $2.175 million to $32.9 million.

Since we last looked in January, the crane has been removed from the 57 story building and most of the exterior has been painted. Work is being done on the interiors by design firm PYR by Pierre-Yves Rochon and the outdoor spaces by landscape architect Raymond Jungles. The slight angle of the tower towards the North was designed to maximize the amount of sun during the afternoon.

This Was Brickell In 2014 In Timelapse

Much has changed in Brickell in only three years. Brickell City Centre was still under construction and months aways from the East Hotel topping out. Nine Mary Brickell Village was also still under construction. Brickell Heights had just started ground breaking on its two towers and is now close to opening. SLS Lux Brickell had not started construction and was still being used as a parking lot. Solitair Brickell was also months away from demolishing the parking ramp and starting construction on SW 8th St.

The Omni Community Redevelopment Agency has agreed to purchase the Citizens Bank Building in the Arts & Entertainment District located at 1367 North Miami Ave, according to The Next Miami.

The purchase price for the building is $4.5 million and is being sold by Big Time Equipment Inc, who bought the property for only $215,000 in 1998.

The 14,820 square foot building was built in 1925 by architect H. George Fink in a neoclassical façade with corinthian columns and used as a Citizens Bank. The building received historic designation in 1988.

In recent years, the building has sat empty, but the area was used in the Summer of 2011 as a set based on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles for the movie "Rock of Ages", starring Tom Cruise.
