TBT - Over Miami - Brickell & Brickell Key (Video)

TBT (June 5, 2015) - An aerial video of Brickell and Brickell Key 4 years ago and in that short time the skyline of Miami has changed. Brickell City Centre was under construction and construction was just starting on Brickell Heights, SLS Lux Brickell and Panorama Tower.

Earlier this year the City of Miami agreed to pay $16 million to improve the grounds outside the Miami Marine Stadium, which will include an event space and park. These improvements will allow the Miami International Boat Show to host their event on the stadium grounds starting in 2016.

Despite renovations to the grounds of the Stadium, nothing is happening with the actual Miami Marine Stadium itself. It still remains covered in graffiti and patrolled by a guard 24/7 to prevent people from trespassing. Millions of funding is still needed to renovate the stadium.

Below is a video of the Miami Marine Stadium.

This Was Downtown Miami In 1977 - Before & After

The photo on the left is what Downtown Miami looked like in 1977. Brickell Key was just an empty island in the process of development. The site American Airlines Arena is currently on was used as a Port and Bicentennial Park was in its infancy. Fast forward to 2015 and the Frost Museum of Science is under construction and many condos and offices have filled Biscayne Boulevard and the Downtown core. Biscayne Boulevard has also been widened to support the traffic. In both photos the one constant that has remained is the iconic Freedom Tower.
