Square Station Construction

Since topping off in September, construction at Square Station is progressing very rapidly since starting to go vertical only a year ago. 

Two of the three cranes have been removed, most of the balconies have been installed and most of the exterior has been painted. Work on the amenities deck is taking shape as the landscaping will start soon. 

Square Station is expected to open early 2018.

Art Plaza Receives Approval From Urban Development Review Board

Miami's Urban Development Review Board has approved Art Plaza, which will be located at 58 NE 14th St in the Arts & Entertainment District. 

Demolition of the buildings on site began in October of this year. 

Art Plaza will be two towers at 36 stories with 667 units and 15,000 square feet of commercial space. 

Art Plaza is being developed by Melo Group who are also doing the under construction Square Station across the street.

The Optimum in Coconut Grove

After demolishing two buildings along Main Highway in Coconut Grove in July, The Optimum is now about to go vertical on a 14,000 square foot site. The Optimum is located next to the abandoned Coconut Grove Playhouse.

The five story office building will have 44,000 square feet of office space and 6,500 square feet for a rooftop restaurant. 

Construction is expected to be completed before the end of 2018.

Construction on the 60,000 square foot Engle Building Hotel in Coconut Grove has reached the 5th floor.

In August of this year, the hotel was starting to go vertical.

Construction is expected to be completed in early 2019.

Inside The Abandoned El Eden Motel In Brickell

After being purchased for $18.4 million in January 2017, demolition has now started on the two story El Eden Motel in Brickell.

The El Eden Motel was originally built in 1976 and then expanded in 1990 with the purchase of the North end of the lot for $390,000. 

With 53 rooms, all of the rooms had large mirrors over and in front of the beds. Some rooms even had all the walls and ceilings covered in mirrors. 

Once the motel is completely demolished, a 24 story hotel with 263 rooms will rise, with construction expected to start first quarter 2018. The project will be developed by Tony Cho of Metro 1 and Robert Finvarb of Finvarb Companies. 

The Starlite Motel next door, which sold for $25 million in December 2014 remains open.

MiamiCentral is starting to take shape in Downtown Miami, especially compared to how it looked a year ago in November 2016.  

2 MiamiCentral is nearly completed and 3 MiamiCentral should be ready to open soon.

Brightline service is expected to begin first quarter 2018.

1111 Lincoln Road Penthouse For Sale At $34M

1111 Lincoln Road

A penthouse, called Skyhouse 11, atop the Herzog & de Meuron designed parking garage 1111 Lincoln Road is listed for sale at $34 million, according to The Miami Herald.

With 7,000 square feet of interior space and 18,000 square feet of outdoor space, the penthouse is being sold by developer Robert Wennett.

Wennett recently sold the 1111 Lincoln Road parking garage for $283 million in July to German investment fund Bayerische Versorgungskammer.
