Since topping off in June, The 5 story Optimum in Coconut Grove is getting closer to completion. 

The crane has been removed from the site and almost all of the glass has been installed on the building. 

The Optimum will have 44,000 square feet of office space and a 6,500 square foot rooftop restaurant.

After clearing the land in May, foundation work still continues at AMLI Residential's Midtown Miami site where they plan on bring over 700 apartment units to 6.6 acres.

Currently, the South Tower, which will be 8 stories and with 215 units will be the first tower to rise. 

Downtown Miami Building Sold For $16.53M

A 11,250 square foot building located at Downtown Miami at 90 NE 11th Street was sold for $16.53 million, according to SFBJ.

The building was sold by Miami Worldcenter developer Nitan Motwani and purchased by Chiron Investments. 

6th & Washington Site In Miami Beach Going Vertical

A hotel and retail building located in South Beach at 6th & Washington is now going vertical. 

The assemblage spanning an entire block between 6th and 7th Street was acquired over 12 months between June 2014 and July 2015 for $32.75 million by Washington Squared LLC.

The hotel will have 312 rooms, 46,849 square feet of retail and a parking garage with 258 spaces. 

Previously on the site was a 1 story building built in 1934 and designed by architect E.L. Robertson. On the corner of 7th and Washington was Friedman's Bakery, which was used to test a new color pallet that would kick off the the Art Deco preservation in Miami Beach. The façade of the building is being saved as part of the new design and construction.

Melo Group Purchases Downtown Miami Lot For $13M

Melo Group has purchased a 24,187 square foot lot located at 34 Southwest First Street in Downtown Miami for $13 million, according to the Real Deal.

The site is zoned for an 80 story building.

In July 2017, the FedEx building across the street sold for $37.25 million.

Melo Group recently completed another Downtown Miami assemblage for two rental towers called Downtown 5th and is currently building the under construction rental tower Art Plaza in the Arts & Entertainment District.

After beginning construction in March, Monad Terrace is now going vertical in Miami Beach.

Two cranes have been added to the site, which will eventually be two towers at 7 stories and 14 stories with only 59 residential units.

Construction is expected to be completed third quarter 2019.

World Precious Metals Building

The World Precious Metals Building in Downtown Miami, located at 40 NE 1st Avenue was sold for $5.4 million, according to The Real Deal.

The three story 4,982 square foot building was built in 1906 while the adjacent eight story building was built in 1917 with 17,850 square feet. Originally called the Ralston Building, it was once the tallest building in Miami for a short period of time.

The building was purchased by investor Elliot Antebi with plans to acquire food and beverage tenants.
