The 64 story Brickell Flatiron is putting the final touches on the building as temporary certificate of occupancy should be issued soon.

The foundation pour started on the building in January 2017 and started going vertical February 2017. In August 2018 the building reached the 49th floor before finally topping off in February of this year.

176 Foot Ferris Wheel Approved For Miami's Bayfront Park

A 176 foot ferris wheel has been approved by the Miami Planning and Zoning Board to be located Bayfront Park.

The ferris wheel would be near SkyRise Miami and feature LED lights on the outside of the wheel. It would also have 42 enclosed pods for a ride that would take 15 minutes.

A 650 foot ferris wheel that would cost $350 million was also proposed back in December 2014.

The plan is the have the ferris wheel operating before the Super Bowl February 2020.

TBT (August 29, 2014) - Before the 53 story Aria on the Bay was built in Edgewater, a 6 story apartment complex was on the site that was eventually torn down. Demolition began on the building September 2014. Aria on the Bay was eventually completed in May 2018.

Aria on the Bay will be located in the emerging Arts & Entertainment district of Miami at 1770 North Bayshore Drive.

Developed by Melo Group and designed by Arquitectonica, Aria on the Bay will be a 53 story tower with 647 residential units. 40,000 square feet will be offered for retail, commercial and office space. The building will offer views of Biscayne Bay, Miami Beach and Margaret Pace Park is right in front. 

Currently the tenants of the previous buildings have been evacuated, but demolition has not yet started on the old apartment buildings. Homeless have been living in the evacuated apartments. 

According to exMiami, construction will not begin until February 2015 and construction is expected to be completed by 2016.

830 Brickell Secures $300M In Construction Financing

The office tower 830 Brickell has secured $300 million in construction financing.

The building will rise 53 stories and top off at 732 feet.

830 Brickell was designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill and developed by OKO Group.

The buildings on the site were demolished January 2018 and foundation work started earlier this year.

830 Brickell is located next to the SLS Lux Brickell and across the street from Brickell City Centre.

Riverside In Brickell Set To Open Later This Month

The 120,000 square foot Riverside In Brickell is set to open at the end of the month as construction is underway at the site.

Riverside in Brickell will have a capacity of 2000 people and have a 750 seat food hall with a Le Chick, Old Lisbon, Morgan's, Taco Gourmet, House of Pizza, and San Lorenzo. There will also be full service eateries, including Awa, an Asian concept, and a high-end steakhouse.

The site is located along the Miami River and across from Brickell City Centre.

Luma Miami Worldcenter

After starting construction in May, a crane has been installed at the 43 story tower site Luma Miami Worldcenter.

Luma Miami Worldcenter is being developed by ZOM Living and Moinian Group and designed by Stantec.

The rental building will have 434 units.

Luma is located next to Caoba, which was completed in January and across from the recently completed Paramount Miami Worldcenter.

Babylon Apartments Demolished

After the 5 story Babylon Apartments was demolished at the beginning of July, The Miami City Commissioners voted last week to allow a new building up to 24 stories on the site.

Despite the building being designated historic by Miami’s Preservation Board in July 2016, Miami Commissioners overruled the vote.

The apartment building, designed by Arquitectonica, sat abandoned for many years before being demolished.
